It’s Valentine’s Day which means that date night is on my mind! While I didn’t visit Walt Disney World during the Valentine’s day season (sadly!), my mind is constantly thinking Disney thoughts! While I love a day in the parks, there are plenty of fantastic date night activities outside of the parks that don’t require park admission. Here, I’ve brought you some of my favorites!
1. Head to Disney Springs
One of my very favorite places on Walt Disney World property is Disney Springs, and since it requires no park admission, it has to make my list! Full of amazing dining options, shopping, and great paths to take a stroll, Disney Springs is sure to meet your date night needs! Grab a dining reservation at Morimoto Asia, STK Orlando, or Portobello Country Italian Trattoria for a romantic dinner, catch a movie at AMC, and top off your evening with dessert from Sprinkles, Amorette’s, or the Ganachery to complete the perfect date night! If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Disney Springs, you’re just a quick walk from Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Stroll along the water, enjoying the beautiful view of Disney Springs!
2. Play a round of mini golf
Walt Disney World is home to two incredibly themed mini golf spots, both perfect for a date night! Head to Disney’s Fantasia Gardens (my personal favorite), located a quick walk from the Swan and Dolphin Hotels, or to Winter Summerland located right by Blizzard Beach for a round or two of mini golf! Modestly priced, this is a great date activity for a couple who enjoys a little competition! These golf courses are nothing like anything you’ve seen back home! Highly themed, both courses will be sure to create a perfect date!
3. Take a stroll along the Boardwalk
Not far from Fantasia Gardens mini golf is one of my other favorite date night activities (mini golf followed by a Boardwalk stroll would make for a perfect night, if you ask me!). Head to the Boardwalk and take a stroll around Crescent Lake with your loved one. This beachy stroll is complete with beautiful views of the Yacht Club Resort, Beach Club Resort and the Boardwalk Inn, and offers plenty of spots to grab a bite to eat. Have dinner at the Flying Fish or grab a drink at the brand new Abracadabar. My favorite part of this stroll? Enjoying some ice cream at Ample Hills Creamery and watching Illuminations!
4. Go resort-hopping
When on a Walt Disney World vacation, one of my favorite things to do is explore the resorts around the Monorail loop! With no park admission required, check out the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian Resorts one evening. Each resort is uniquely themed, and offers plenty of great dining, drinking, and relaxing spots! Head to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at the Polynesian for a whimsical drink, then grab a seat outside for Wishes nighttime spectacular! If you’re looking for something extra special, head to the Grand Floridian for truly fine dining at Victoria & Albert’s chef’s table (a recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award!). No matter how casual or fancy you’re looking to get, these resorts will meet your needs for the perfect date night.
5. Take a carriage ride fit for Cinderella
If you’re looking for a uniquely romantic experience while on vacation, head to Port Orleans Riverside or Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground for a carriage ride! My personal favorite is at Port Orleans Riverside; take a ride along the Sassagoula River in a horse-drawn carriage to create new Disney memories together! This 25-minute ride is a perfectly unique date night if you’re looking to do something romantic without breaking the bank!
