Are you in the Orlando area today, but not sure how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? There are a ton of fun ways to celebrate the Irish both at Walt Disney World and at Universal Orlando! So, put on your green and get ready to have some fun!
Raglan Road
The biggest party of the year happens at Raglan Road in Disney Springs. I mean this is a traditional Irish pub, so you know they are going to do things right. Each year, they pull out all the stops with their Mighty St. Patrick’s Day Festival. There’s great food, bands, Irish dancing, beer, and more. The only thing to keep in mind is that on St. Patrick’s Day, the restaurant does have a cover charge of $10 per person.
Rose and Crown
While this restaurant at Epcot’s United Kingdom pavilion doesn’t only celebrate Irish heritage, it certainly does offer quite a few dishes that are perfect for the holiday. Add a pint of Guinness and you’ve got a great afternoon or evening of celebrating.
The Ganachery
This Disney Springs sweet shop offers delectables that can’t be missed. Special for this year is the Irish Cream, Stout, and Irish Whiskey treats!
Sprinkles
The cupcake bakery in Disney Springs is offering a few unique treats to celebrate the occasion. Have your ice cream served in a green waffle cone or pick up an Irish chocolate cupcake with Belgian dark chocolate cake and a Baileys Irish cream cheese frosting. (Oh yum!!!)
Disney Bakeries
Most Disney bakeries and sweet shops all around the Walt will offer unique cupcakes and candied apples to mark the day. Pick one up to share or enjoy by yourself.
The Daily Poutine
Looking for an nontraditional way of enjoying Irish fare? The Daily Poutine features thick-cut, gourmet French fries with a variety of toppings. And for St. Patrick’s Day, they will be serving fries smothered in beer cheese and shaved corned beef. How can you pass that up?
Pat O’Brien’s
If you’ll be at Universal, head to Pat O’Brien’s for a wicked good party! The event starts at 2:00 p.m. and goes until 2:00 a.m. with authentic Irish food and specialty drinks as well as dueling pianos and live music. Get there before 7:00 p.m. for free admission. (After 7:00 p.m., the event becomes a 21 and up party.) Oh and if you were a fan of Off Kilter, a high-energy Celtic rock band that used to perform at the Canada Pavilion at Epcot, they will be at Pat O’Brien’s for this event!
No matter how you celebrate, it’s bound to be a great night! Erin go Braugh!
