With the return of the Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Rey has officially joined the lineup and appears on stage with BB-8. This show is presented several times a day in the park’s Center Stage area and brings to life iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with film clips and appearances by favorite Star Wars characters from Darth Vader to Chewbacca. Additionally, more Star Wars fun has been added to the nighttime show “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” was also recently updated and incorporates sequences from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

- Disney announced that Pirates of the Caribbean will see a refurbishment next year and the Magic Kingdom attraction will have a re-imagined auction scene. Soon the famous redhead will join the pirates’ cause in pillaging the town’s tavern as the pirates auction off the townspeople’s valuables. In addition to that, some of the other characters present in the scene will be seen carrying goods to the pirates that are attempting to take over the village. This refurbishment work is expected to take place sometime in 2018.
- The Hall of Presidents will be getting a new show and a complete theater upgrade – including a brand-new sound system, lighting, and high-definition projection system – when it reopens to park Guests this fall. In addition, the Walt Disney World Resort officially confirmed that President Trump will have a speaking role, like every president since 1993.
- On nights where the Magic Kingdom is hosting Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, as a test this year, the park will close at 6:00 p.m. to day guests. While the party will begin as normal at 7:00 p.m., only those with tickets to the party will be able to ride attractions after 6:00 p.m. Day guests will be able to shop and dine until 7:00 p.m. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will not be using the testing hours, and will continue to close at 7:00 p.m. for day guests.
- Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be temporarily relocating beginning late July. This is unplanned maintenance which is expected to begin on July 28 and last through August 13. During this time, the character meal will be relocated to the convention center at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
- Beginning July 10, Guests who purchase a limited-edition $100 Shopping Card for Disney owned and operated merchandise locations at Disney Springs will receive an additional $25 bonus Shopping Card to be used on future visits, redeemable beginning the following day. Both cards are redeemable at Disney owned and operated merchandise locations at Disney Springs, Earport and Magic of Disney at Orlando International Airport, and Shop Disney Parks app. This special promotion is only available for purchase via World of Disney and may not be used at any Disney Springs Operating Participant locations or other merchandise locations at Walt Disney World Resort. Keep in mind that the $25 Bonus Shopping Card expires on October 29, 2017, while the $100 Shopping Card does not expire. Guests may use the Shopping Cards at the following locations:
