At the D23 Expo, Disney announced that they would be introducing their brand new Minnie Van ride-sharing service. The service is similar to Uber and Lyft, but will only be available on Walt Disney World property and can take Guests from point-to-point that will help guests get around Walt Disney World Resort.
Guests can arrange their own private Disney vehicle right from their smartphone, and a Disney Cast Member will drive them wherever they want to go around Walt Disney World.
These vehicles are currently only available for to pick up Guests at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Once the system rolls out completely, Guests can be picked up and dropped off anywhere. Guests will be able to request their Minnie Van through a collaboration with the rideshare service, Lyft. Guests can arrange their own private Disney vehicle right from the Lyft app on their smartphone.
Riding in these vehicles is like riding in style. Vehicles are Chevy Traverses and they can fit up to six passengers. These are state-of-the-art vehicles with all the bells and whistles. The Minnie Vans will cost $20 each way, no matter how many passengers you have. Vehicles will include two car seats, so those with little ones will still be able to utilize this service. Guests will be able to do things like have control over the radio, if they choose.
There will be a few accessible vehicles available for Guests who need them.
The Minnie Van service will only transport Guests around the Walt Disney World Resort, meaning that they won’t take you off-site. However, what’s nice is that these vehicles can drop you off exactly where you need to go. So, for example, say you are staying at the furthest back room at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, they’ll drop you off right at your door. Or if you want to go to the Magic Kingdom, they’ll take you to the bus stop section.
The Minnie Van service is currently only available from 6:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. The Minnie Van service may be available later in the evening when the parks are open later, but that is still up in the air currently. One good use for these vehicles is for those who maybe have early morning breakfast reservations at one of the Disney Resort Hotels. Now you don’t have to worry about how you’re going to get there and what time Disney’s bus service starts.

Really excited to have this as an option with car seats! I hope it’s rolled out in time for our fall vacation for resort dining reservations… will be a big time saver!
This is a wonderful idea, but my concern is that Disney will turn around in a year or two and ban all other point to point riding services (like Uber & Lyft). Any one have thoughts on this as well? Would they and could they legally ban these companies from coming onto WDW property?
I can’t wait to try this! What an excellent idea. I guess I’d be more apt to make reservations for dinner at another resort with this service. Did you / would you need to tip the driver?
I think this is an excellent idea. I would definitely use it. I am 69-years old and sometimes my family will go ahead and I will meet up with them later. This would be perfect.
As far as my understanding, you do not need to tip the driver.
I have the same concern Kristina. I utilize Uber often when I am at the resorts. The cost has never been as high as $20. I am hoping that they do not end up banning other options to come on Disney property.
