It is time to look ahead at what magic will be awaiting Guests visiting Walt Disney World in 2018.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios seems to be the big winner heading into 2018. Toy Story Land is opening in summer of 2018. In this new land, guests shrink to the size of a toy in Andy’s world. Two new attractions are part of this new land.

Slinky Dog Dash is a family roller coaster attraction. Here guests of all ages will love being sent around turns and drops that Andy himself created to make Slinky and his coils stretch as much as possible.

The second ride to open in this land will be Alien Swirling Saucers. Inspired by the first “Toy Story” movie, this ride is based on toys from Pizza Planet. Aliens will fly around and try to capture guests who are flying around in saucers trying to escape “The Claw”. 2018 is sure to be magical with this new land opening.
It was just recently announced that Flights of Wonders finished in December with a new show to replace it in 2018. This new show called Adventurers Meet UP! A Great Bird Adventure includes the movie “Up” and features Dug and Russell. This show will also be featuring birds from around the world in the Caravan Theater in Anandapur Village.
It was also announced that this summer would be known as the “Incredible Summer” at Walt Disney World with lots of fun activities planned for those visiting during those months, including a Guardians of the Galaxy Party at Epcot at the America Gardens Theatre!

Disney Springs continues to offer new dining experiences for guests. After much wait, The Edison offers American cuisine, bears and live entertainment. Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar, Maria and Enzo’s Ristorante and Pizza Ponte have also opened at the beginning of this year.
Guests will have even more restaurants to choose from in Disney Springs throughout 2018. Wine Bar George will open this spring and feature over 100 wine selections and shareable plates for guests to enjoy. Terralina Crafted Italian will also debut this spring.
Jaleo a concept by Chef Jose Andres will bring the flavors of Spain to Disney Springs. A new Wolfgang Puck concept will be opening in Town Center capturing the laid back feel of California dining. All of these new experiences will be opening throughout the 2018 year in Disney Springs.
Caribbean Beach Resort 2012
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will continue to see updated resort areas throughout the 2018 year. Coronado Springs Resort will be working on a 15-story lakeside tower that will include both suites and concierge-level services for guests. Other guest rooms throughout the resort will see refurbishments as well as changes to the landscape throughout the resort grounds.
At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, guests will see a new waterside dining and marketplace. Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach will not be completed with the refurbishment until 2019; however, some changes will be able to be seen by guests throughout 2018.
The other resort going through some major changes is Pop Century. Starting in 2017, Pop Century refurbishment included updating rooms with new, updated accommodations. All rooms will be updated in 2018..
ESPN World of Sports has also opened a new sports and entertainment venue. This 8,000 seat facility will host six regulation basketball courts, six regulation volleyball courts or concert areas. Both cheer and dance events will be able to performance and practice here. This new facility will be a great area for those heading to Disney for sporting events.
