On our last 7 night Disney Fantasy cruise to the Western Caribbean, my family decided to try out an oceanview room. This was a change from our usual verandah staterooms but we wanted something different. Our travel agent from The Magic For Less, booked us stateroom 7516. This is on deck 7 forward on the starboard side of the ship. This means it is the right side of the Disney Fantasy as you are facing the front. We could not find any pictures or videos of this unique setup so I wanted to make sure that you guys would have the information you needed if you wanted to book this room.
First, this stateroom is in category 08C which is a deluxe family oceanview stateroom that sleeps 4. There is no verandah but there is a giant porthole that a child can easily sit in to watch the water. Most rooms that sleep 4 people have a queen size bed, a couch that folds down into a twin bed, and a bunk bed that folds down from the ceiling. This unique stateroom did not have the bunk bed in the ceiling. Instead, it had a murphy bed beside the porthole window.
The muster drill will take place in assembly station H. This is on deck 4 on the starboard side promenade boat deck.
As you walk into the room from the door, two large closets are on the left.
On your right are the doors for the split bathroom.
One door leads to the toilet and sink room.
The next door leads the bathroom which has a round bathtub and a showerhead complete with a rain shower head. This room also has a sink.
Head down the hallway and on the closet wall is the long desk/dresser drawer area.
The opposite side of the room after the bathrooms had the bed followed by the couch and the murphy bed. There is plenty of storage in the room between shelves and drawers.
Normally, we see our stateroom host early on the first day but this time we didn’t meet him right away. He had made up the couch bed for our daughter but we wanted to use the murphy bed. We just walked up the hallway to find him and he quickly came down to put the couch back up and unlock the murphy bed. We chose this option so that we still had seating area in the room when the bed was pulled down. Remember you can always ask them to set it up how it would work best for your family. You do not have to go with the way they set it up.
The only con about using the murphy bed is that it came down right up to the desk drawers where we kept my husband’s clothes. The drawers would not open with the bed down. This meant that if he wanted to get up to run before we got up then he needed to plan ahead and set his clothes out the night before. Had we thought of this in the beginning then we would have used those drawers for my daughter’s clothes since she wouldn’t need to get into the drawers while she was in bed.
We enjoyed this stateroom on the Disney Fantasy very much. The whole family fit comfortably in the room as did all of our clothes and bags. My daughter wanted me to add that the window seat is perfect for napping.
