My crew and I were visiting Universal and well, as it inevitably happens, as you leave the parks after touring all day, you realize you’re hungry. The good news is that Guests who visit the Universal Orlando Resort have a plethora of dining choices to pick from, as they exit the parks and enter CityWalk!
Now, my go-to place is usually Toothsome. I LOVE their milkshakes and their menu is quite impressive. However, on this instance, I wanted to try something different. Like a beacon (seriously….the giant TV screen on top of the building showing sports highlights calls you in) we were drawn to NBC Sports Grill and Brew.
This is a rather large restaurant that focuses on favorite bar foods! Oh and if you are visiting Universal Orlando and looking to catch a big game, trust me, this is where you’re going to want to go! There are TVs galore! The restaurant is a sports bar, plain and simple and it doesn’t pretend to be anything else. This isn’t a bad thing and when you’re looking for this kind of experience, NBC Sports Grill and Brew delivers!
One drawback, is that the restaurant is kind of dark. Lighting isn’t spectacular, but you’re really here to watch TV, so that doesn’t matter much, right?
My husband and I decided we wanted to split the Loaded Chili Nachos appetizer. These are served with Chili with beans, white queso, aged cheddar, sour cream, scallions, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapeños. Let me tell you. This was a meal and it was easily sharable. The two of us ate our fill, and there was still some left on our plate for our tablemates to snack on. The toppings were plentiful and it was incredibly delicious. Oh and this sucker was dripping in cheese! Which wasn’t a problem for us!
Another member of our party got the Smoked Beef Brisket. This is served with smoked Gouda, horseradish cream on a toasted brioche onion roll. Again, this was very good and very filling. Lots of meat and delicious. This was served with crunchy tater tots!
Our last member of our party got the Mushroom Burger. Served with sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, lettuce, oven roasted tomatoes, toasted brioche bun. He said this was also very good. Plus it’s served with fries, which are the big puffy ones!
The best thing about NBC Sports Grill and Brew was that it didn’t break the bank! We all ate and left full for under $50! That’s not something you can say a lot when visiting theme park areas! So, hands down, NBC Sports Grill and Brew is a great deal!
