I just got back from my very first ever cruise on the Disney Magic on Disney Cruise Line up to Canada, from New York, and even got to celebrate Halloween on the High Seas! But one of the things I was most excited to experience was Rapunzel’s Royal Table!
This is one of the main dining rooms on the Disney Magic and it is here where Guests are invited on a delicious trip to the kingdom of Corona. We are here to celebrate Rapunzel’s birthday. When Guests step inside the royal ballroom, they immediately see glowing lanterns and the walls that are adorned with some of Rapunzel’s colorful drawings.
Look at the lanterns and the suns on the ceiling!
On the hunt for Flynn Rider
Upon entering the restaurant for this evening, Guests were met with some of the crew from the Snuggly Duckling! They were preparing for the surprise, the only way they knew how to and yes, they were here to interact with us and share stories and have us revel in the merriment.
Of course, Rapunzel arrives and then she starts meeting with her Guests.
There are songs performed by the cast, however, I will admit that from our seats, it was a little difficult to see and hear the show. (We were on the outer row of seats by the windows.)
But you want to know about the food, right?
We start with our appetizers. I had the Grilled Knockwurst Sausage served on White Onion Mash, with Crispy Shallots, and Bavarian Mustard. This was delicious! Granted it tasted like a fancy hot dog, but I very much enjoyed it and could have eaten another couple of these plates.
My husband got the Royal Marinated Salmon.
As far as my entree, I tried King Frederic’s Grilled Sirloin Steak which is served with truffle-layered potatoes, honey parsnips, and buttered spinach. This dish was just ok. It was your standard steak, but nothing really spectacular. Same goes for the potatoes.
My husband got the Oven Roasted Tom Turkey Breast. This is served with green beans, mashed potatoes, rosemary stuffing, giblet gravy, and cranberry relish. He said this was incredible and it was definitely like Thanksgiving dinner!
For dessert, I got the White Chocolate-Bread Pudding which is served with Praline Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream. This was incredible. It was one of my favorite desserts on the entire trip! (I actually wished I’d asked for it again on a subsequent night…)
For dessert, my hubby got a Mickey Bar! Did you know you can get these at every dinner, if you so choose? (And he chose a Mickey Bar for every meal!)
I very much enjoyed my first meal at Rapunzel’s Royal Table and looked forward to enjoying more meals here throughout the rest of my cruise. (And I got to dine at Rapunzel’s three times total!)
