Can you believe Mickey Mouse is 90 this year? The main mouse was introduced back in 1928 and in celebration of this monumental occasion The Walt Disney Company is pairing up with Make-A-Wish to help make some magic by sharing your ears!
The idea is simple. All you have to do is take a photo, or share one you already have, where you are wearing Mickey Mouse ears! (They don’t even have to be real ears, you can be creative with your “ears” too!) Share your images on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and use the hashtag, #ShareYourEars. There is a time limit though! You’ll only have until November 17 to post those photos!
In addition, if you’ll be in one of the Disney theme parks throughout the campaign, you can take photos in front of uniquely themed “ear walls” at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Paris. Those visiting Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will find photo frames along Main Street USA! You can also #ShareYourEars on Disney Cruise Line, with special photo ops that you can only find on Disney cruise ships!
Not going to be in a Disney park, but have a Disney Store nearby? Through November 17 you can decorate your own pair of paper Mickey Mouse ears and show them off in the #ShareYourEars frame!
For every public photo posted, Disney will donate $5 to Make-A-Wish, up to $2 million! This money will help grant life-changing wishes to those who are facing critical illnesses who need a little magic in their lives during this time in their lives. When these wishes are granted, they help families who are feel fear, anxiety, and sadness with joy and hope.
So, get ready – and get creative! Don’t have ears? Create your own out of just about anything. Make them simple or fancy; artistic or wacky. The main thing is that we are all helping to make wishes come true!
