The Play Disney Parks app has been a fun distraction for Guests for almost a year now. The app allows Guests to participate in interactive experiences and play with their family and friends while touring the theme parks. In the past, Guests have been able to play trivia in line for Soarin or Peter Pan, race rockets on Spaceship Earth, participate in fun experiences in the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort lobby, and even get a deeper understanding of Pandora – The World of Avatar.
This week though, it was announced that the Walt Disney World Resort will be adding two new interactive experiences for Guests to discover and help them to explore the theme parks. They are Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Day and the Disney Kidcot Puzzle Hunt.
With Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Day, Guests will be able to play a series of Splash Mountain-themed mini-games featuring woodland pals. After completing the challenges, Guests will be rewarded with special photo frames!
The other new game is the Disney Kidcot Puzzle Hunt. Here, Guests will embark on an interactive world tour to find physical jigsaw puzzle pieces throughout the Kidcot Fun Stops in all 11 World Showcase pavilions. Once you have completed a pavilion’s puzzle hunt through the app, Guests will be rewarded with digital jigsaw puzzles and special photo frames themed to each pavilion. This game will not be replacing the Kidcot Fun Stops; it will just be an added adventure for Guests to participate in.
Of course, there will also be games introduced to the Play Disney Parks app when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge debuts later this year.
