Brunch is my absolute favorite meal to eat at Walt Disney World. There are so many great restaurants that offer delicious breakfast and brunch options that it can be hard to choose. This time, I decided to visit the Grand Floridian to check out the Grand Floridian Café before spending the day at the Magic Kingdom.
The Restaurant
The Grand Floridian Resort is a classic hotel with elegant décor, so it comes as no surprise that the theming of the café is beautiful as well. I especially enjoyed all the weather vanes around the restaurant. Each one was different and unique. The large windows throughout the restaurant give it a warm and welcoming feel.
The café is an excellent choice for brunch because the menu has all the traditional breakfast foods as well as a nice selection of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. I often make advance dining reservations months in advance and never know if I will be in the mood for breakfast or lunch food during the brunch hour. If you are like me, this restaurant is a great option for you!
The Menu
On this particular day, my friend and I decided to go with breakfast choices. We opted to order one savory meal and one sweet meal to share. After much deliberation, we chose the benedict flight and the Mickey waffle because you have to try at least one Mickey waffle on a Disney vacation, right?
The Grand Floridian Café offers 3 types of eggs benedict: traditional, spicy chorizo, and lobster. Can’t decide? Order the flight and try them all! We did and we were not disappointed. The eggs were perfectly poached and served with a good amount of hollandaise sauce. We both enjoyed these.
If you choose to order a waffle, pancakes, or French toast, you also have the option to add some sweet treats to top off your waffle. There are a few options, but we landed on the citrus-pecan syrup, Chantilly cream, mandarin oranges, and dried cranberries. The waffle was fine on its own, but the toppings made it fantastic. I especially enjoyed the Chantilly cream. It was like having breakfast and dessert combined. Delicious!
Our experience at the Grand Floridian Café was very relaxing. Disney vacations often involve a lot of running around, so it was nice to sit back and enjoy a great meal before taking on the always busy Magic Kingdom. If your travels include a non-park day, you could always stop by the spa or shop at little at the hotel after your meal. You really can’t go wrong with a visit to the Grand Floridian, so be sure to stop by!

We ate there before the Christmas party last year then walked around the resort. It was delicious. The sugar cookie crumbles and strawberry sauce, yum!
