Ever wonder about taking family portraits with Disney Fine Art Photography? I didn’t realize how spoiled we were until our friend/photographer moved out of state. What were we going to do for family pictures now?! People I knew locally told me the going rates, and was shocked! Apparently, we had been getting a fabulous bargain from my friend, and I didn’t realize it. I had read something about family portrait sessions at Disney World, and was surprised at how many options Disney Fine Art Photography offered. When I compared the price to what I could get here in our hometown, it seemed like a no-brainer!
The current options include a 20 minute Mini Portrait session at a resort for $225, a 20 minute Mini Portrait session with Cinderella Castle as a backdrop for $279, a 1 hour Enhanced Portrait session at a resort or in a park (other than Magic Kingdom) for $499, and a 1 hour Magic Kingdom Family Portrait session for $1999. Currently you can’t book these sessions online, you need to call to book. We booked the Enhanced Portrait Session at Epcot’s World Showcase, giving us an hour in the park with a photographer and an assistant. For this package you have the choice of using a Disney World resort, Animal Kingdom, Epcot World Showcase, or Hollywood Studios. I don’t know if you can get your photos taken in Batuu, but it sure would be worth asking! Since we’re Disney Vacation Club members, we received a 15% discount. I’m not sure if there’s an Annual Pass discount, but once again it’s always worth asking.
After I booked our session, I received an email with all of the details of our booking. We met our photographer and her assistant inside the gate at the International Gateway for Epcot at 7:45 a.m. Our photographer asked us which pavilions we wanted photos in, and we started with the Canada pavilion. She did a great job of taking a variety of photos and was open to us asking for certain shots, and she even let us walk on the grass, behind the gate! After Canada we visited both France and China. We had a blast walking around the park before it opened and feeling like we were the only ones there. She took over 100 photos in that hour. Compared to some of the quotes I received back home, we really feel like we got our money’s worth. A few hours after the session ended, we received an email with one of the photos, and a thank you from Disney Fine Art Photography. Nine days after our session we were able to view all of our photos digitally, and they sent us a thumb drive in a nice storage box a few weeks later.
Overall, we were incredibly impressed with our photo session, and the care we got from every Cast Member we interacted with in both the planning beforehand, and on the day of our session. We have a family trip planned for next year, and plan on calling Disney Fine Art Photography to book another session.
