Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite Moderate resort at Walt Disney World. Have you ever stayed at this quaint, New Orleans themed hotel? If you have, you know why I love it. If you haven’t, here are my top 5 reasons you should consider it!
YOU DON’T WANT TO DO A LOT OF WALKING
Port Orleans French Quarter is the smallest of all the Walt Disney World Moderate resorts. This means that your walking distance from your room to the hotel’s food court, gift shop, pool, boat dock and bus stop won’t leave you exhausted!
YOU LOVE JAZZ
The Scat Cat’s Club serves light bites and alcoholic beverages, and on select nights you can hear solo jazz musicians! Although you can certainly visit this bar even if you’re not staying here, it’s much more convenient when you enjoy an evening here and then walk right back to your room!
YOU’RE HONEYMOONING ON A BUDGET
What could be more romantic than a horse drawn carriage ride along the Sassagoula River? Each carriage can hold up to four, but it’s quite cozy and romantic if there’s only two of you! A small fee applies.
If are planning a romantic getaway here, be sure to ask for a river view. The rooms with king sized beds offer views of the gardens, the courtyard, the parking area or the riverfront. The gardens and courtyard are both pretty, but the river views are the prettiest!
YOU’RE PLANNING ON SPENDING TIME AT DISNEY SPRINGS
Disney Springs is a very pretty and relaxing boat ride away from this resort! The ride is especially beautiful at night. If you’re planning on having dinner at one of Disney Springs’ restaurants, this is a very relaxing way to get back to your hotel afterwards.
Bus transportation is available to all the theme parks and water parks. Buses also run to Disney Springs, but the boat ride is so much prettier and much more relaxing!
YOU DON’T PLAN ON EATING MUCH AT YOUR RESORT
Some families want to spend almost every waking minute in the parks. This often means breakfast, lunch and dinner away from the hotel. Port Orleans French Quarter has a Mardi Gras themed food court that serves three meals a day, but no sit down restaurant. But if you’re only planning on grabbing coffee and a beignet from the Scat Cat’s Club Café and then racing to the parks, you’ll have everything you need here!
I hope this has convinced you to give this resort a try!
