On a recent trip to the Walt Disney World Resort to visit and see how Disney Springs was doing after reopening from its coronavirus closure, I decided to make the stop in for some ice cream from Vivoli il Gelato. This quick stop shop doesn’t just sell ice cream, as the name would suggest. Instead they also have waffles, sandwiches, coffee, and more. But, the main star is the ice cream.
So, of course, when I saw that their current specialty shake was a birthday cake shake, I knew I had to try it.
The shake was created to celebrate their fifth anniversary! It is made with cake batter gelato, whipped cream, topped with sprinkles, and a house-made vanilla frosted cupcake. As you can see, it is a delicious looking creation!
I did think that the cupcake was not nearly as big as I thought it would be. It was more a half sized cupcake. (For “normal” cupcake sizes…not Disney cupcake sizes.) The cupcake tasted good though with a nice vanilla flavor. It was also super moist. In addition, the shake itself was so yummy. I very much enjoyed the smooth birthday cake flavors. It was definitely sweet though!
This not a cheap dessert. It’s $14, which when you think about the shakes you get at somewhere like Toothsome at Universal Orlando, they are right at the same price point and have a larger “dessert” usually on top. So, while I don’t know that I would spend the same amount for the “specialty” part of it, I would consider coming back in for a birthday cake gelato shake in the future, should they continue to offer the flavor.
This shake is only available through July 31.
