Let’s be honest…2020 hasn’t been filled with the greatest news. On top of everything…Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is cancelled, the Cinderella Castle Holiday Dream Lights won’t be hung, and it won’t be snowing on Main Street USA. But, Give Kids the World Village is poised to reignite the holiday season with it’s Night of a Million Lights!
Give Kids the World Village is a storybook nonprofit resort providing cost-free vacations to Central Florida for children with critical illnesses and their families. The Village has had to temporarily close during most of 2020 due to COVID-19, but from November 13th to January 3rd they will open up the gates to visitors for a holiday light spectacular!
The GKTW 64-acre village is always whimsical and joyful, but it will be truly magical decked out in over 1 million lights! The displays will include a light tunnel, a gingerbread arch, over 30 decorated villas, massive wire-frame decorations and the premier of the brand new Henri’s Starlite Scoops – where ice cream is always allowed for breakfast!
Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry, the character ambassadors of GKTW, and Santa Claus will make appearances around the village. Guests can also experience some of the wheelchair accessible attractions, partake in hot cocoa and ice cream, and visit the awe inspiring Castle of Miracles.
Many Disney fans have never had the opportunity to visit GKTW Village. It is normally only open to wish families, alumni and volunteers. This is your opportunity to see what the Village is all about, and celebrate the 2020 holiday season in a beautiful way. All tickets to Night of a Million Lights will benefit Give Kids the World and tickets are on sale now.
The Village recently sent out this behind the scenes look at the light set up! Take a look!
