If there is one thing this past year has shown Disney fans it is that we are a resilient bunch. With the ever constant changes of the past year we continually show our support. No FastPasses? No problem. No Extra Magic Hours? Got it covered. Only limited resorts open? Well, this one has been a challenge for a lot of us to overcome, especially for parties of five that want to stay within a moderate budget. For the past eighteen months, Walt Disney World Resorts have only had a number of their resorts open. Now that some of the other Deluxe Resorts are opening beyond just the DVC Villas, booking a resort is slowly getting easier, although many of us prefer to say at a more moderate price.
What is it with a party of five when staying at a Disney resort? By “party of five’ I mean a family of five all above the age of two. Our family personally likes staying at a Resort with access to the Disney Skyliner.
We love spending at least two days at Hollywood Studio’s every trip, as well as park hop into Epcot every night so Caribbean Beach Resort serves us well.
Disney is very accommodating to smaller parties but a party of five is where things can start to get difficult. This mom just so happened to see the announcement of packages dropping into 2022 while still on our 2021 vacation. Thank goodness I was able to read the breaking news on The Mouse for Less announcing the package dates had been extended. Immediately, I was on the phone outside of our room at Caribbean Beach Resort (Valentine’s week ’21) making another reservation for our next onsite vacation.
As soon as we returned home, I immediately transferred our reservation to our senior travel agent over at The Magic for Less Travel Agency, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Imagine my surprise, when only weeks later all reservations for rooms accommodating families of 5 were already sold out, although it is important to note that was only for a short amount of time. With Port Orleans Riverside still closed, the only other options for us were Art of Animation family suite, which accommodates six people. Since then, more reservations are now open, but circumstances were still, at that time, of the unknown.
So as much as we Disney die-hards roll with punches of ever constant change, the one thing I’ve learned is to make the reservations and park passes as soon as you can. Also, that it is greatly beneficial to one’s trip to keep up with the ever constant changes by visiting the news page on The Mouse For Less web page.
