Early in May 2022 I had the awesome opportunity to stay for two nights at Bay Lake Tower thanks to some dear DVC friends who generously gifted my husband and I points for a Theme Park View Room!
We wanted to try Steakhouse 71 at some point during the trip. We were doing a split stay of four nights, with our other two nights being at Kidani Village. It turned out the only time we could make advanced dining reservations for Steakhouse 71 while were at Bay Lake Tower was for a breakfast reservation.
I started my Steakhouse 71 breakfast with coffee and since I was on vacation I ordered the Steakhouse Bloody Mary. I had to ask if the mix was gluten free. Most of the time the mix for a Bloody Mary contains Worcestershire sauce which is safe, but some places (not necessarily at Disney) use Soy Sauce and that is not at all fine for a celiac or someone who cannot have gluten.
Our waiter assured me it was safe to drink. It was made with Tito’s Vodka which is gluten free and they dipped the glass in SteakHouse seasoning which added a bit of flavor that went very well with my breakfast.
I decided that since I was at a steakhouse I better have steak as part of my breakfast. They had several options for a gluten free breakfast and I opted for the Steak and Eggs: 4 -oz Filet Mignon, Breakfast Potatoes, Two Eggs Any-Style. It was good. It was priced at $21.
I asked for my steak to be done medium and my eggs over easy. Breakfast was tasty and I enjoyed it. I was not wow’d by it, but the restaurant looked great and our waiter was awesome. I had the sense that they cooked up the Filet ahead of time as it seemed a bit dry but overall I did enjoy myself.
The Steakhouse 71 atmosphere, the drinks and the service were all fun and enjoyable. I would like to try this location for dinner at some point to really get an idea of how the steak would be then. We had visited the Wave last year during this time and seeing the location fresh, clean and remodeled was worth it.
