I am a pastry fanatic! I live for trying new sweet treats, and Christmas time is the best when it comes to cookies and other desserts! I’m also a very big gingerbread cookie girl, and on my most recent trip I decided to go on a hunt for the best ginger cookie. Check out my ranking of the top gingerbread cookies during the holiday season!
#4: Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Cookie
This treat can be found at a handful of Disney sweet shops, including Goofy’s Candy Co. in Disney Springs and the Confectionery in Magic Kingdom. I picked this cookie up on my way out of the Magic Kingdom, and it was definitely the cutest one I tried!
Fluffy and dipped in milk chocolate, this Mickey-shaped treat is perfect for Instagram, but lacked that spice that I love in a ginger cookie. A good choice if you have a snack credit to use and are waiting for a holiday parade, this cookie ranks third on my list.
#3: Gingerbread Cookie Sticks
Find these treats at Hollywood Studios in a few locations during the holiday season; I got mine at Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner. The best part about these cookies is that they come in a bag of 2! For $5.69, these large cookies are totally sharable. Frosted with royal icing and topped with some cute garnishes, these were really enjoyable! I also liked that they came pre-packaged so I could close them up and save the second cookie for later. The flavor was nice, the cookies were soft and chewy, and the decorations really felt like the holidays!
#2. Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich
Caramel gingerbread cookie sandwich… Are these not the best 4 words ever combined? Head to Karamell-Kuche in Epcot for this one. Two large chewy ginger cookies are glued together with cream cheese frosting and a drizzle of caramel to create one of the most magical treats on earth! This cookie is heavy! Split with a friend or two; it’s sweet and delicious and perfect! This cookie had a good amount of spice, and the ginger flavor really shines through, making it a winner for me! Plus, cream cheese frosting is the key to my heart!
#1. Ginger Snap Cookie
It shouldn’t surprise you that my number one ginger cookie was purchased out of a gigantic gingerbread house! What might surprise you, though, is that my pick for #1 isn’t a shingle from the house. It’s an unassuming ginger snap cookie! Head to the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations, including a life size gingerbread house, and stop for a cookie break. This treat is everything I want in a ginger cookie. It’s incredibly chewy, spicy, sweet, and all-around perfect. Topped with crystalized ginger, it’s also beautiful! During the holiday season, run to the Grand Floridian for this perfect holiday cookie!
