I shared with you in this post here where our family’s favorite lunch Quick Service spots were in the Magic Kingdom. Today I will share with you our favorite spots in Hollywood Studios.
Toy Story Pizza Planet
My kids love Toy Story. They love the Toy Story Midway Mania ride and posing with green army men. They love Buzz and Woody and know all the words to “You Got a Friend in Me.” So when they saw Pizza Planet and shrieked in excitement, I knew we were having some pizza for lunch. Toy Story Pizza Planet is in between Star Tours and MuppetVision 3D.
The restaurant is modeled after Pizza Planet from the Toy Story movie, with “the claw” aliens hanging from the ceiling and arcade games. There is seating upstairs, as well as outside. And the Cappuccino Cupcake is incredible…no really, my mouth is watering as we speak!
Backlot Express
Backlot Express
Backlot Express is tucked in a corner in-between Star Tours and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. The cool thing about this restaurant is the decor. Hanging all over the walls and from the ceilings are movie props and memorabilia.
The lines were a bit long, but I had the Pressed Turkey Club which was quite good and worth the wait. My husband had the Onion Straw Bacon Cheeseburger and raved about it. With cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets on the menu there are plenty of choices for those inbetweeners…kids that have adult meal plans but with child food preferences. Of course there is also some healthy kid meal options as well.
The kids really enjoyed looking around the room while we all took a little rest and enjoyed our lunch. Try the room with the yellow submarine hanging from the ceiling…they particularly liked that room.
Sunset Blvd
Catalina Eddie’s/Fairfax Fare/Rosie’s All America Cafe
Our last favorite is actually three different quick-service counters but they are all in the same place on Sunset Blvd across from Beauty and the Beast and in the perfect spot to hear the screams from those brave souls riding The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The kids seemed to like laughing at their screams even though they screamed just as loud. This section offers a multitude of options including salads, burgers, barbecue, pizza and sandwiches all in the same spot. It was like eating at the mall…everyone got what they wanted.
The food I had was just okay, but it was convenient, had plenty of space to sit, and was in a great location to catch our afternoon fast passes for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The best part was I didn’t have to hear anyone whine about not getting what they wanted. Sometimes it’s the little things in life.
