It is so exciting to know that the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland expansion – a project spanning many years — will be completed with the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in just a few weeks!
Every corner of New Fantasyland brings to life treasured Disney stories and beloved characters, and this is certainly true of Princess Fairytale Hall, a Character Greeting space dedicated specifically to Disney Princesses.
Touches throughout the Hall make you feel as though you are in a castle crafted in a golden age… with the modern-day perk of air-conditioning ;). Highlights include stained-glass windows and light fixtures in the shape of Royal Crowns.
The Princess Portrait Gallery leaves no doubt that you are soon to be in the presence of true Disney Royalty!
Each portrait was painted by classically trained artists, and the images of the Princesses are truly beautiful. Below is a closer glimpse of Rapunzel’s portrait, as well as Tiana’s (there are six paintings in all to admire).
The end of the Hall showcases a prized possession – you may even see it sparkling before you realize what it is: Cinderella’s Glass Slipper.
Cinderella’s Slipper finds its home here because Cinderella is the host of all her friends and guests at Princess Fairytale Hall.
Beyond the slipper, of course, are the Princesses themselves in their beautifully appointed rooms, where there is time for autographs, hugs, and pictures.
You have an opportunity to choose which Princess you will meet prior to entering the Hall. Outside of the Hall, you will see signs letting you know which side to enter to meet the Princess you most wish to. Fastpass+ is also available for this experience, allowing you to select which Princess you would like to meet ahead of time.
Typically, Cinderella and Rapunzel greet guests, and each is joined by a fellow Princess (unknown until your time of arrival). However, beginning on April 20th, the Hall will welcome two new VERY special guests: Anna and Elsa from FROZEN!
Anna and Elsa will be moving from their home in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion to Princess Fairytale Hall, and if the lines at EPCOT to meet them have been any indication, FastPass+ to reserve your place in line is highly recommended. Please be sure to read the FastPass+ Guide to learn all the lastest information regarding FastPass+.
These FastPasses will be popular, though, so it’s nice to know that – even if you don’t end up with a FastPass+ — the waiting areas in Princess Fairytale Hall are completely lovely, and it is truly a space befitting royalty!
