Did you know that right now, the Walt Disney World Resort, specifically, the Magic Kingdom, is celebrating Mickey and Minnie’s 90th Birthdays? That’s right! These two have been around for 90 years, but they don’t look it!
To celebrate, the Magic Kingdom has rolled out a number of special treats that are only available at select counter service locations. Each location has a different item on the menu in honor of the pair.
Today, we’re going to talk about the Mickey and Minnie Whoopie Pies that you can pick up at Columbia Harbor House.
These two whoopie pies certainly look adorable, don’t they?
The Mickey Mouse themed one is made of chocolate cake, with a vanilla cream in the center. It also has red (white) chocolate and yellow icing to make it look like it’s wearing pants. This whoopie pie was just ok. It was a little dry and I’m not sure if it’s because it was sitting out or something else. The chocolate was also a little bland.
The Minnie Mouse version is red velvet with a cream cheese filling. With only has a simple red white chocolate bow affixed to the top. This was obviously the more simple option, but this one tasted much better. It wasn’t dry at all and had better flavoring.
Overall, for the price, these are just ok. They are a great option though, I think if you have two little ones who want a dessert. It’s the perfect option for them to split. (Or if you want to split them….that’s fine too.) I personally don’t know that I’d get them again though. I would rather enjoy another dessert that the Magic Kingdom has to offer. More on that one later.
