Chocolate and pretzels are like Mickey and Minnie — perfect together. Somehow the mix of salty and sweet makes both snacks taste even better. Pretzel buttons take a traditional treat — a chocolate-dipped pretzel rod — and make it easy and safe enough for kids to help assemble. This time, we’ve upped the cuteness factor by adding extra mini M&Ms to turn the pretzel buttons into everyone’s favorite shape — Mickey Mouse pretzel buttons!
Mickey Mouse Pretzel Buttons Ingredients:
- Square “waffle” pretzels
- Hershey’s Kisses
- Regular M&Ms
- Mini M&Ms
You will also need: an oven, a cookie sheet, and parchment (or waxed) paper.
Instructions:
Heat your oven to 170 degrees F — just hot enough to soften the Kisses.
On a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper, place each unwrapped Kiss on a waffle pretzel.
Heat the cookie sheet with pretzels and Kisses for 5 minutes in the oven until the Kisses are shiny.
Remove cookie sheet from the oven and let it cool for 1 minute.
Press one regular M&M firmly into the center of each Kiss. Add two mini M&Ms of the same color in a “Mickey ear” shape.
Cool the completed Mickey pretzel buttons on the cookie sheet in your fridge or freezer until solid (more than an hour). Resist the urge to eat them all right away!
These Mickey pretzel buttons would be perfect for a Mickey-theme birthday party or as part of a trip reveal for your family. Or serve alongside Mickey and Minnie cupcakes!
All food taste better shaped like Mickey!
