- Beginning December 18, Guests at Epcot can enjoy Disney and Pixar animated shorts like never before at “Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival,” a new 4D cinema attraction at the Magic Eye Theater. To make way for this new offering, Captain EO’s last day will be on December 6.
- Colortopia presented by Glidden is now open to Guests inside Innoventions at Epcot. The interactive exhibit entertains, informs, and inspires Guests about the power of color though three dedicated spaces. At the Power of Color Theater, Guests will enjoy a short presentation that explores the psychology of color by immersing them in a full spectrum of colors. Then at the Color Lab, Guests can play Color Mix n Match, an interactive game that allows them to mix red, green, and blue to create bold new colors. A second station, Spinning Spectrums, teaches Guests about the persistence of vision through painted spinning discs. Guests can try to guess what color their eyes will perceive once the multi-colored disks start to spin quickly. Finally, in Color Our World, Guests will play with fun color shadows while they wait to receive a magic paintbrush, which they will use in the studio to bring the world around them to life through their personal color choices. Guests can also download the Colortopia mobile app enables fans to play with expansive color palettes at Epcot and in the Colortopia exhibit.
- The Walt Disney World Railroad will reopen at the Magic Kingdom for Guests on November 21.
- At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, hyenas are starting to be seen on Kilimanjaro Safaris ahead of the Nighttime safaris.
- On November 19, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Guests will have the chance to vote on five to six videos inside of Premiere Theater at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Guests participating will need to be at least 9 years of age or older to vote, and all Guests who vote will receive a free AFV t-shirt.
- Starting December 1, Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to enjoy new Star Wars experiences:
- Star Tours: The Adventures Continue will feature a new scene inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. During the opening months, everyone who rides Star Tours will experience the new adventure. After that, it will be random once again.
- Star Wars Launch Bay will take Guests into the Star Wars saga with special exhibits and peeks behind-the-scenes, special merchandise, and opportunities to meet Chewbacca and Darth Vader.
- “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi” will feature scenes from the complete Star Wars saga.
- Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple will take kids to the secret site of an ancient Jedi temple where they will face Darth Vader along with the Seventh Sister from Star Wars Rebels.
- Due to all the changes occurring in the park, Star Wars Weekends will no longer be offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- From November 13 through December 31, Holidays at Disney Springs will feature new entertainment, specialty food & beverage offerings and distinct holiday décor themed to each neighborhood at Disney Springs. In addition, Santa’s Chalet returns this season on the waterfront between World of Disney and Ghiradelli. Santa will be visiting with Guests November 13 through December 24. After Santa has departed for the North Pole, Goofy will put on his Santa suit and meet with Guests at the Chalet through Dec. 29. To meet Santa or Santa Goofy, Guests will be able to pick up a pager upon check-in to secure their place in a virtual queue line, enabling them to continue exploring Disney Springs while waiting to meet Santa.
- Planet Hollywood will close for approximately six months starting in January 2016. When the restaurant reopens in summer 2016, it will be renamed the Planet Hollywood Observatory.
- The Wave Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be open until 2:00 a.m. each night through January 2.
- Beginning December 4, children ages 3 to 12 will be able to experience new Children’s Activity programs at Lilo’s Playhouse at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Sandcastle Club at Disney’s Beach Club Resort as part of a test. Here young Guests will be able to enjoy several new activities including cooking classes, zany lava experiments, enchanting character interactions and dinner.
