- Earlier this year, the Island Supply store closed in Adventureland. We now know that that store is expected to reopen on January 8 and will be now called Island Supply by Sunglass Hut. Yep, the updated location will now feature Sunglass Hut merchandise.
- The Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party will be taking place on select Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings at Epcot’s Showcase Plaza in both January and February. Cost is $49 for adults and $29 for children ages 3-9.
- Two changes will take place at Innoventions this January. IBM’s THINK exhibit will close on January 1. Also, the Test the Limits Lab will close on January 6.
- Contactless Payments, such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet are now able to be utilized throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Locations that will accept these types of payment include ticket sales locations, merchandise locations, quick-service restaurants, bars and lounges, spas, and more. Do keep in mind that this type of payment will not immediately be accepted at table-service locations or other locations that utilize portable payment terminals.
