If Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a bustling center of vacation goodness, the Old Faithful Club at the Wilderness Lodge is a quiet and peaceful oasis. I was lucky enough to stay for the first time at the Old Faithful Club for four glorious days recently on an annual sister trip. I can honestly say that this experience has completely spoiled me for any further Walt Disney World Resort stays.
The Concierge Experience
We were greeted at the first floor check-in and personally escorted to the glorious seventh floor. Our concierge Loyda explained that Cast Members were available from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Guests are even provided a private number to text concierge on demand.
On to our room! The room was comfortable but dated in decor and technology. The entire concierge floor is due for an overhaul during the next year with significant enhancements. Adorable resort themed chocolates from the Ganachery were a nice surprise in addition to the usual resort literature.
There was an endless supply of yummy food and drink at the Old Faithful Club. Chef Lauren Sigsbee has a lock on what works for all ages and palates. The delightful staff were literally at our beck and call.
Breakfast
Continental breakfast was served from 7:00 am to 10:30 am daily. The assortment featured upgrades such as hard-boiled eggs, overnight oats and a charcuterie assortment. Coffee and the usual breakfast drink were in abundance.
Mickey-shaped sugar always added a special touch!
Refreshments
Refreshments service runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. There were a variety of chips and dips, sandwiches, and peanut butter and jelly shooters for the kids. One neat feature was a do-it-yourself trail mix bar. The resort-exclusive Geyser Grog didn’t disappoint!
Hors D’oeuvers
Hors d’oeuvers service was from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm each evening. This was the culinary highlight of our day! Chef Sigsbee’s soup selection did not disappoint. Offerings included chili, cream of cauliflower, and grilled cheese and tomato soups. Ceviche, curried chicken salad, and vegetable samosa made were different and unique choices. Slow smoked ribs, brisket, and bison lettuce cups kept the rustic and homey atmosphere alive.
Cordials and Desserts
From 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm each evening, the Wilderness Lodge Old Faithful Club featured liquors and dessert. Adults 21 and over were welcome to alcoholic beverages upon request throughout the day.
The Wilderness Lodge Old Faithful Club was uncomplicated and relaxing. Aside from the amazing service, the staff and atmosphere were absolutely delightful. I adore the Old Faithful Club and I know I’ll return!
Oh, and Stitch TP’d my room….
