Ranking the top five pools at the Walt Disney World Resort seems like an impossible task. The Resort in Orlando Florida is known for several things, family fun, character meet and greets, immersive themes, and THE HEAT. To beat the heat there is no better way than to dive into your resort pool. Below are my personal favorite top five pools.
The Big Blue Pool – Art of Animation Resort
The Big Blue Pool is a favorite with both kids and grown-ups alike. Themed after the classic Disney Film ” Finding Nemo” this is one of the largest pools on property. This pool features large colorful characters, a splash pad with a giant anemone with Nemo and Marlin and a dry playground featuring Squirt the young sea turtle.
One of the coolest features of this pool is the underwater audio. Guests who swim underwater can hear fun music as well as characters from Finding Nemo talking! This cool feature makes this one of the best pools on property.
The Beach Pool- The Grand Floridian Resort
The Beach Pool at the Grand Floridian Resort is a sure bet for any top five Walt Disney world resort pools list. This pool located on the Seven Seas Lagoon features a zero depth entry, cascading waterfalls, and a 180 foot waterside. In addition an Alice in Wonderland themed splash area for little ones is a great time with a giant ” Mad Hatter’s” hat that fills with water and dumps on guests periodically.
Stormalong Bay- The Beach Club
Stormalong Bay at The Beach Club Resort is undeniably one of the best pools on property. This amazing water area features a sandy bottom area that is perfect for little ones, two water slides, a lazy river and a whirlpool area. It’s almost a mini water park at the resort. Guest can also dine at the adjacent Hurricane Hanna’s or sit at the bar at this unique pool.
Lost City of Cibola Feature Pool- Coronado Springs Resort
My favorite moderate pool has to be the Lost City of Cibola Feature Pool at Coronado Springs Resort. This pool which features a 128 foot slide and a towering 46 foot Mayan Pyramid. This pool located at the Dig Site offers guests a truly cool themed experience. In addition it features a small splash pool, Jacuzzi and a great dry play area as well. It was an easy choice to add this to my list of top five pools.
The Lava Pool – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
My favorite pool and my favorite place to be on property is the lava pool at The Polynesian Village Resort and Villas. This pool features an outstanding splash pad called ” Kiki Tiki” which has several slides, huts and spray features. In addition this pool boasts a 150 foot water slide and an infinity hot tub. This is my favorite place to watch the nightly fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from. It doesn’t hurt that my favorite snack The Dole Whip is available at The Pineapple Lanai, which is conveniently adjacent to this pool. It is easy for me to see how this pool tops any top five Walt Disney World Resort pools list.
