Who is going to be at Walt Disney World on the fourth of July? Simply put… There will be quite a few people there along with you. This is definitely a good time to have a really great plan in place! Remember that the Magic Kingdom, especially, may close to visitors at some point through the day, so you may want to consider getting to the Magic Kingdom early (and staying there), if the Magic Kingdom and fireworks are on your “must-do” list for the day. Otherwise, you may want to consider visiting a different park for that day.
My daughter loves to take some time to read the “Disney” blogs. She is very serious about this and makes sure she tells me all that she finds. She made sure to tell me about the fireworks over three castles. Yes, this is a big deal to her! So, this year, fireworks are supposed to be shot off over Cinderella’s Castle, Prince Eric’s Castle, and the Beast’s Castle. Wouldn’t that be cool to see? You can find out more about what is happening at Walt Disney World on July 4th on our special Fourth of July page.
One of the things that I would really find special on the Fourth is listening to the Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert in Epcot. The Voices of Liberty has always held a special place in my heart. Their music always gives me goose bumps! I would also like to see Betsy Ross, Ben Franklin, and Disney characters in their patriotic outfits.
If you really want to see the “Concert in the Sky” fireworks of Magic Kingdom but don’t want to be elbow-to-elbow in Main Street, how about watching the fireworks from the beach of Disney’s Polynesian Resort? It might be a better option for kids who don’t like the loud fireworks inside the parks.
I want to clarify something I said at the beginning of this post: getting to the park early and staying there. This really goes against the common advice of taking a mid-day break, doesn’t it? Well, unfortunately, it can’t be helped on a holiday when leaving for that mid-day break may mean that you can’t get back in to your park-of-choice. It would be heart-breaking to anyone who had his heart set on watching the fireworks over the castles to come to the park and find that he couldn’t get back in. This would definitely be hard on the kids (and kids-at-heart). There’s something that can be difficult on everyone who is trying to stay in the park all day without leaving. That is the heat. Make sure to keep the heat and its effect on yourself and family in mind. Check out our Beat the Heat page for some simple tips to help you weather the heat while waiting for the magical fireworks or whatever event you are looking forward to.
We’d love for you to come and discuss your 4th of July plans for Disney or share your tips from past 4th of July trips on the MFL Boards! Have a wonderful, fun, and safe Fourth of July!
