Have you ever wondered how elves travel? I hadn’t either but I was intrigued to find out! LOL Welcome to Disney’s Winter Summerland, an elf-sized golf course (as described by Disney themselves) that, luckily for us, anyone can play!
Disney’s official story for how Winter Summerland came to be is this……………
“Late one moonlit Christmas Eve, as Santa was flying over Florida on his way back to the North Pole, he glanced down and discovered snow in a place that is usually hot. After surveying the strange location, he decided to build a vacation destination for his off-duty elves—a Winter Summerland.
Seeing that the only thing Winter Summerland lacked was a golf course, Santa Claus and his elves divided into two camps, one that enjoyed the warm Florida sun and another that preferred the snow and cold of the North Pole. The elves then built two distinctly different 18–hole golf experiences — a sand course and a snow course.”
The scenery is equally impressive whether you are playing the Sand Course or the Snow Course and what Sand Course would be complete without a whimsical sand castle?
Each hole is introduced….
…and appropriately so. ; )
You do have to be careful where you walk though as you just might get wet here and there. This bridge looks innocent enough but that guy on the left isn’t just for decoration!
A little sand, a little snow and a giant Christmas tree finish things up. If you’ve never tried Winter Summerland then I would highly recommend it. Those who want their mini golf skills challenged would definitely prefer Fantasia Gardens but for those of us looking for a little more fun and a little less concentration (especially for the little ones) then this is your place! Try out either the Sand or Snow course (or both) and have a blast!!!
This is a really fun mini golf course. And it DOES have loops! 😉
