It’s time to celebrate that special man: dearest Dad. At Walt Disney World Resort, Dads can be sure to enjoy days filled with magic and adventure. Here’s some options to make dad feel like a king on Father’s Day and any day.

Father’s Day Meals and Buffets in the Parks and at Resorts

There are over 100 restaurants at Walt Disney World to choose from. Reservations for most restaurants can be made in advance, so be sure to call 407-WDW-DINE to discuss different options and to make reservations.

As the date gets closer, some theme park, resort and Disney Springs locations may offer a special meal for Father’s Day. Traditionally, information for these meals is not usually released until just prior to Father’s Day. When planning for a special day, make sure to reserve something early and make changes as needed if another opportunity becomes available.

Suggested Dining Options

If you can’t get a dining reservation at one of the special Father’s Day options that are announced, here are some additional restaurant suggestions to celebrate Dad’s special day at Walt Disney World Resort or peruse our menu section for ideas:

  • California Grill, Disney’s Contemporary Resort
    This classic fine-dining restaurant that serves award-winning gourmet dinners and sweeping views atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Fresh sushi is on the menu. Dine late and watch the fireworks bursting over Cinderella Castle complete with piped in musical score.
  • Narcoossee’s, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
    This creative seafood restaurant is nestled on the waterfront overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon with spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom park and fireworks. Whole Main Lobster is on the menu.
  • Be Our Guest, Magic Kingdom
    Beneath shimmering chandeliers, lovebirds can dine in fairy tale elegance at Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland. Known as the place where Belle and Beast fell in love, the grand ballroom in Beast’s Castle is the perfect setting for romance as ‘snow’ falls on the French countryside outside the windows and guests dine on French-inspired cuisine and fine wines.
  • Coral Reef, EPCOT
    Located in The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion, this seafood restaurant features a spectacular view of the pavilion’s enormous aquarium. Guests can see barracuda, angelfish, sharks, dolphins, rays and sometimes, Mickey in a scuba suit. This restaurant also seems to be a little less expensive that some of Walt Disney World’s upscale eateries.
  • Monsieur Paul , EPCOT
    Step upstairs to turn of the 20th century Paris for an intimate, French dining experience in this tucked-away Parisian bistro with a magnificent French wine list. Don’t skip dessert such treats as Grand Marnier Souffle and Vanilla Creme Brulee. It’s possible, although not guaranteed, to get an excellent view of Epcot’s evening fireworks spectacular from this elevated restaurant.
  • San Angel Inn, EPCOT
    This restaurant with subdued lighting and a starry sky overlooks the Mexico pavilion’s “River of Time” boat ride and a volcano! Be sure and watch for the shooting star over the Aztec temple and make a wish.

Biergarten

  • Biergarten, EPCOT
    Enjoy a German feast and tunes at this restaurant located in the heart of Epcot’s German Pavilion. Biergarten promises all the fun, food, music and drink found at a traditional German Biergarten during Oktoberfest.

  • Flying Fish, Disney’s Boardwalk
    This signature restaurant serves fresh seafood in a high-energy, upbeat setting at Disney’s BoardWalk. The restaurant features an onstage show kitchen. Take in the wondrous décor-an artistic and nostalgic interpretation of an Atlantic Boardwalk. The wine menu is especially extensive. Stroll along the boardwalk after your meal and play some carnival games.
  • Jiko-The Cooking Place, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
    Relax and enjoy the warm, soothing colors of an African sunset in a beautiful setting as you savor a truly unique culinary experience with one of the finest collections of South African wines in the U.S. Don’t forget to visit the animal viewing area at the resort after your meal.
  • Todd English’s BlueZoo, Dolphin Resort
    BlueZoo features an award-winning celebrity chef, ulta-modern decor designed to make you feel underwater and a focus fresh seafood and creative cocktails. Enjoy an upscale meal and then head to the Boardwalk for an evening at Jellyrolls, a sing-a-long dueling piano bar. Free child care offered at Camp Dolphin while you dine at this restaurant.
  • Fork & Screen, Disney Springs, West Side
    For something uniquely different, have dinner and take in a movie at the same time! AMC Disney Springs 24 theater features Fork & Screen, which provides restaurant dining with “seat-side service” while you watch a movie. Visit AMC’s web site for additional details.
  • Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
    Enjoy a family-friendly, high-energy hootenanny and a finger lickin’ good feast at this vaudeville review-style dinner show. This two-hour Wild West themed comedy will have Dad laughing in between bites of endless fried chicken, corn bread and more.

Other Father’s Day Ideas

Disney Springs

Disney will occasionally make special offers available in honor of Father’s Day. Like other special events, these may not be released very early.

If you are looking for some creative ideas, take a look at the offerings from Disney Florist. There are tons of ideas, but also gifts to suit many occasions, including Father’s Day. If you don’t see what you want, they can create custom gifts as well.

Many of favorite retailer’s merchandise can be found at Disney Springs. Pick up something that he’s sure to love.

What’s better than hitting the course with Dad? This Father’s Day, golfers 18 years-old and under play for free with Dad at all Walt Disney World Golf courses. And for the very first time, Walt Disney World Golf is proud to offer the game of FootGolf on Disney’s Oak Trail golf course. The 18-Hole FootGolf course is certified by the American FootGolf League (AFGL), the governing body for the sport of FootGolf in the United States.

Another idea to help make Father’s Day special is a photo package. While Disney’s Photopass photographers are always available, Disney Fine Art Photography offers packages for families to capture special occasions. There are many options and locations that are available depending on budget.

Dad can learn how to master the waves at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park with private surfing lessons. Instructors teach participants everything from standing on a surfboard to riding the waves in the park’s large wave pool. The 2.5 hour classes are small, with a maximum of 12 people per session to ensure the best experience. Participants must be age 8 or older to learn to ride the waves.

Try a different kind of aquatic adventure with Dad over at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Guests can rent kayaks or canoes to explore the streams and ponds across resort property. Rentals can be made at The Bike Barn at the Meadow Recreation Area. Rent kayaks and canoes for $13 an hour, open daily.

Home to three professional golf courses, Walt Disney World Resort also features four miniature golf courses. Take Dad for a whimsical round of golf at Disney’s Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf Course. This course features 18 holes, each themed to a different part of the classic film Fantasia. Fantasia Gardens also offers Fairways, a more challenging, 18-hole course. Or at Disney’s Winter Summerland, there are two unique 18 hole courses, one themed to a traditional winter Christmas with giant peppermints and snowflakes, while the other is a summer wonderland, complete with sandcastles and tunes from the Beach Boys.

Take dad out to a night of good old-fashioned bowling in a retro, vintage-style venue at Splitsville at Disney Springs. This trendy, two-level location features 30 lanes, plus live entertainment, a balcony bar, and a variety of upscale dining options with all dad’s favorites such as filet sliders, pizza and even sushi.

Disney Springs

The Boathouse is the only place in the world where Dads can thrill to a Captain’s Guided Tour in a vintage Amphicar that drives on land and enter the waters of Lake Buena Vista with a splash.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, dad can explore exotic African wildlife in a natural habitat on a privately guided, three-hour journey through a savannah. Wild Africa Trek also invites trekkers to a serene, savannah-view overlook while enjoying African-inspired food and beverage. Wild Africa Trek is $189 to $249 per person, plus tax (prices vary based on season). The tour can be booked by calling 407-WDW-TOUR.

Remember, though, that while special meals, and mementos are wonderful, dad may be just happy to spend his special day in the parks with her family. Memories at Disney parks are always a great gift.
